> Racer, i have to tell you something. I do have a problem with food, medications, sometimes smoking, its alot of "non-control" of myself. And even a medication that would help me with some "less impulsiveness" it also itself can be taken over again, and then its a problem itself.I understand that, I really do. See, once upon a time, I was your age, too, and had some issues with impulsiveness regarding various chemicals myself...
When I suggest that maybe stimulants aren't your best bet, I'm making that suggestion because I found that the best way to control my impulses to indulge in those substances was not to be around them. For me, that meant not being around the people I knew who indulged in them. For you, it may be that your best bet is to avoid having them prescribed to you. That doesn't mean don't treat your ADHD, it only means maybe you'd be doing yourself a favor to limit your exposure to substances which might be dangerous for you.
If you and your doctor decide that a stimulant is your best option, perhaps you could enlist someone to help you take it as prescribed? Maybe your mother or another family member could give you your daily dose each day, rather than risking the impulse to take more than prescribed?
And just so that everyone on this board is aware, and in hopes that everyone who reads this can understand my perspective on this -- I'm offering this advice because I worry about you. I worry about you because I care about you. I want to see you feel well, do well, and live well. I'm not trying to be critical, only to make some suggestions which I hope will help keep you safe.
Peace.
