One study showed that ondansetron (a 5HT3 blocker) slowed this down, however $25 of those anti-emetic pills usually reserved for chemotherapy is a bit much.
Ginger does have some 5HT3 blockade in some limited studies (raw probably has more than candied, I don't know, but either is harmless and I have found some benefits personally).
