Yes, this would be a good description. Unfortunately, it might encompass old (discontinued) things like ethchlorvynol, glutethimide, and methaqualone, which are technically also nonbenzodiazepine hypnotics... Or wouldn't something like rozerem fall into this category? And it is much different than the Z drugs...
