Hello everyone,
I'm sorry if this subject has been 'done to death' over the last few years on this site, but I'd be grateful of some advice if any of you wouldn't mind offering it!
My psychiatrist has just prescribed me Seroquel (Quetiapine) for the first time - two days ago - for the treatment of excessive anxiety and panic attacks. He's told me to take 50mg in a single dose at night. (I'm also on 45mg of Mirtazapine - also taken in one single dose at night - which I have been taking for around six weeks now.)
He's given me some brief advice on Seroquel, but I really want to hear the views of people who have actually been there, taken Seroquel, worn the proverbial t-shirt etc.
1) He's told me to take 50mg once a day at night. I've read on the net that Seroquel has a 'duration of action' of only 12 hours. Should I really be taking this drug in a single dose at night if the action of the drug only last 12 hours?? Surely I won't feel any benefit of the drug during the day, if this is the case??
2) I've only been taking the drug for two days now but have still to feel any beneficial effects from it. How long does it actually take to kick in - and expect to start feeling less anxiety and panic??
Thanks for you advice!!
