True, it has a short half-life, but this is actually the reason why I expect it to have after-effects. I don't think the drug effect itself is depressing me - quite the opposite, to be honest it makes me quite happy before going to bed. My guess is that we are experiencing mini-withdrawal the next day.I suppose that's still better than a longer-acting benzo that doesn't cause dysphoria the next day but causes *real* withdrawals when you stop it (which zolpidem doesn't do for me, presumably because you are already "mini-withdrawed" by the next evening).
