Are you saying psychiatry will never be a science or just not in your lifetime? I believe it is scientific at this point, just in it's infant stages though. I'm convinced the origin of mental illness--which is very real despite what some may think--lies in the genes, which causes neurochemical or biological malfunctioning. Sure, it's not the entire answer as environmental factors play a role, but if the predisposition can be neutralized, any illness that does arise from only environmental triggers can be dealt with using proper psycho-pharmacological therapy. Not likely to happen in our lifetimes, though, as you say. I may have slight hope at 35.

Some people say marijuana eases their anxiety, but that must be for the 'normal' people, as for me, it causes a slightly paranoid schizophrenic state.
