Hi Simcha
>I take it at night. Somehow it seems to give me a burst of energy 8 to 10 hours after taking it. So, if I take it in the morning I seem to have worse insomnia at night. Perhaps I'm just a little odd...
I don't think you are odd :) After taking a dose of Wellbutrin XL, the peak blood level generally occurs after about 5 hours, although this is variable of course. Taking it last thing at night will minimise the blood level at bedtime and maximise the blood level in the early morning. For this reason, taking it at bedtime may indeed be useful.
Taking Wellbutrin XL in the morning is more common, and is recommended by the manufacturer, but it may not be optimal for everyone.
