In reply to Deplin(Methylfolate) users, read my 1st post!!!!!, posted by stargazer2 on November 8, 2007, at 18:36:45
My endocrinologist rec. a homocysteine level to be drawn to evaluate if I am deficient in folate. He said that test is a better indicator of deficiency than a floate level. I am having that leveldrawn tomorrow along with blood type and cortisol level.
I'm still uncertain whether to use Deplin (Rx), MetanX(Rx), Folapro (OTC), Cerefolin (Rx), HSfighters (OTC) and some other brands I have found on line with various names and methylfolate levels, mostly 800 mcg. I know deplin is 7.5 mg but I'm trying to find out if others have used lesser amounts of L-methylfolate with good results.
I'm trying to figure out if any one product is better than another and balancing the cost too, along with prescription or OTC product.
Need your input....Thanks.
