In reply to F*ck*ng Doctor wouldn't give me Deplin!, posted by King of Nothing on November 2, 2007, at 17:29:48
King,
if I were you and I was paying for each visit, can you call him and ask him if he read the info? Then ask him if it would be something that might be helpful and if he says yes, could he call the script into the pharmacy. You really don't have to see him for something like that, but if he's a pain in the keester, he might insist on seeing you.My pdoc asked me today if I wanted to go on deplin, as I gave him the info at my last visit. I told him the endocrinologist is having my homocysteine level checked to determine if i am deficient in folate. That was something new I learned. Homocysteine level is a more accurate indicator of folate level. If it is high it means you are probably deficient in folate
I spoke to the pharmacist at Walgreen's the other day and asked her if they had Deplin. She said it was listed on their formulary but she would have to order it. The cost was around $60 for 30 pills.
Good luck with your f'ing pdoc!
