D0pamine,

I have an appointment for a pulmonary function test due to shortness of breath. I have been attributing this symptom to our brutal hot/humid summer as I work outside, but the problem has not abated since we have turned cooler.

I also experience a periodic increase in heart rate, though I have no other symptoms of anxiety/panic.

I also have noticed a dryness in my eyes and a change in my vision.

A complete novice with regard to the ANS, I did a quick Wikipedia review after reading your post and found a chart of the actions of neurotransmitters on the SNS and PSNS.

It is at the bottom of the page:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autonomic_nervous_system

Seems I am either very susceptible to suggestion, or there could be a real connection here.

Assuming there is an inhibition of action, would you give me your opinion of whether these restricted actions are potentially harmful over the long run?

I don't want to give up my EMSAM!!

Thanks.... wishing I hadn't read your post ;-)

Janet
