Oh hello all you lovely peeps out in "which drug will truly help" land. Lexapro has never been the greatest for me and in fact really messed with my sensitivity level with respect having "the BIG O". I still have enjoyed sex but not to the degree that me and my hubby would like.
Along with that it just hasn't been working well at keeping my depression at bay. I am quick to fly off the handle, I cry for no apparent reason, and the scariest thing for me was that on Tuesday I wanted to crawl under my covers and hide. Never done that - don't want to.
Saw doc today - He originally was going to prescribe Wellbutrin but I have been suffering from intermittent overwhelming anxiety so that got vetoed. He says that he has gotten positive responses from patients on Remeron (mirt.) What he didn't tell me was that a big side effect may be weight gain. Crap! I have had a problem with putting 30 lbs back on that I took forever to lose (I am a recovering dieter and don't want to go on another one!) I am a sugar junkie and was hoping that somehow there might be a "sugar patch" (ha ha ha) like the nicotine patch used for quitting smoking. Other than saying "buck up" does anyone have any advice and/or experience with any of this???
My friend in AA says to do the steps around sugar.
She also said "buck up" which immediately made my hair stand on end.Okay thanks for "listening".
Love,
toots
