Trying to quit Lexapro, but not going that well.

Posted by Bonnie_CA on October 23, 2007, at 23:56:33

I'm trying to stop taking Lexapro, on the vain hope that I won't get mysterious body aches anymore. I've been taking half of the 10 mg pill for about a month, and I've noticed I'm more anxious. I think I need to be on an SSRI because of my anxiety and panic, regardless of my pdoc's concern about it causing cycling. I doubt it's causing cycling, because I feel worse on 5 mg than I did at 10 mg. I'm having to take more xanax to offset the lack of Lexapro. I'm thinking either going back to Celexa or Paxil.

I don't really have a question, as usual. Just hoping to collect some thoughts on my meds.

200 mg Lamictal
5 mg Lexapro (supposed to be 10 mg)
.25 mg xanax as needed

Maybe I need something added... seroquel or something? I find myself having to take .5 mg of xanax at a time. Don't want to have to take more xanax.
