Nuvigil was recently approved, but it has the same indications as does Provigil. They are planning to do clinical trials with respect to depression, specifically bipolar depression, I think. But they're not there yet.

Alertec is the same drug as Provigil, only the Canadian supplier is Shire Pharmaceuticals. Cephalon didn't develop modafanil, but they did take over the patents for it, in the U.S. There are many international brands of modafinil.
