I beleive I used to suffer more in winter too. Not any more (at least not more than any other time of year). I put a 'Full-Spectrum' light bulb in the main rooms of my house (where I spend the most time in, like my computer room) & it seems to have solved the problem. Get the strongest one you can. I normally get mine from ebay.
