Welcome!
Most people find that nardil works best for SP. However, I have a friend who uses Parnate and it works like a charm.
I've been on both for depression. The parnate was stimulating, but didn't brighten my mood. Nardil helped me sleep and I felt very calm on it. I had to discontinue it because it made me lactate.
I had to search high and low for someone to prescribe and MAOI.
Best of luck, I hope you find someone soon.

> Greetings-- I'm a 59 YO longtime SP patient (male) who has been down the medication trail from SSRI's to SNRI's and now coming off of Effexor and transitioning to Nortriptyline (tricyclic a-d) because the shrink that I'm seeing is dead-set against MAOI use. My symptom set is truly classic SP.... blushing, tremors, you name it. The reason that I'm posting on this board is to gain information about MAOI use (like to talk to someone who has used the Seligeline(sp?) skin patch for example). I would also like to get a clearer picture of the differences between Nardil and Parnate. I am convinced that one of these drugs could make a real difference in the quality of my life and intend to keep looking until I can find a prescriber.
