Provigil crash: can anticholinergics help?

Posted by Mishal on September 23, 2007, at 4:56:19

Can anyone explain this to me please?

I like Provigil, and my dosage is 200mg in the morning. But by the evening I crash and sink into depression. I tried to overcome this by taking an extra 100mg in the evening, but couldn't sleep then even on Ambien.

Then I added Atarax (Hydroxyzine) and surprisingly, I didn't crash in the evening time. But Atarax was too much sedating for me, so I tried clomipramine which was with me. Still surprisingly, while I was on clomipramine I didn't crash in the evening as usual.

The thing that is common in Atarax and Anafranil is their anticholinergic effects. Does anticholinergics prevent Provigil crash?
