Neurontin helped me to quit Xanax

Is this a good news?

I was on standard dose (1.5mg daily) of Xanax for years. Now my doc put me on Neurontin 300mg tid.

Now being on this for a couple of days, I forgot to take my Xanax. BINGO

I read in a URL 1000mg of Gabapentin (neurontin) is equivalent to 5mg of Klonopin.

Now do you think it is a fair trade? Taking neurontinn instead of Xanax?

Does Neurontin lose its efficacy over time?

Is it addictive like Benzos?
