Your doctor is probably right about the Remeron -- it causes weight gain for an awful lot of people who take it.
Advice? When you say that you've "developed tolerance" for Abilify, I wonder if you're meaning something else. Abilify is not one of those drugs, like benzos or psychostimulants, that causes tolerance as it's generally understood. My guess, wild and unsubstantiated as it is, is that you had an initial response to it, and aren't currently taking an adequate dose. Going further, my guess would be that raising it would be the best choice at this point -- find out if an adequate dose is all that's needed. Abilify's therapeutic window is usually described as between 15 and 30 mg. You're not there yet, and may find that you do just fine once you are.
