Ricardo, my therapist and this is her opinion not mine although in my case I agree, said that depression can result from anxiety that is left untreated. Years of anxiety that goes untreated and is suppressed can often result in depression and that is what you finally go to the doctor for and they see a depressed person and treat that not the underlying anxiety as well. Could this apply to you? It did to me. I had terrible anxiety and panic attacks but suppressed them and finally the depression that hit left me unable to function. That is when I finally sought help but it took a year and six months before the anxiety issues where discovered. Maybe you are only just now discovering this about yourself. And I agree it is hard to talk about especially to people that don't suffer from it. You cannot just push it away. You did that already too long. You need to talk about. Maybe you can understand the source of the anxiety.
