<As of October 1, 2007 people who use Medicaid for the medications need to know that any prescription that is not written on a tamper resistant prescription pad will not be filled. The law was passed as part of the U.S. Troop Readiness, Veterans’ Care, Katrina Recovery, and Iraq Accountability Appropriations Act of 2007 (Public Law 110-28). The problem is that the majority of people that this will effect directly and indirectly know nothing about it. There are efforts to delay this law to provide adequate time for the prescription pads to be distributed to all physicians. The problem is that may not happen in time for the October 1 deadline. That puts every individual that rely on Medicaid for their prescriptions at risk of NOT having their prescription filled.>
I got the above info from the American Chronic Pain Association and thought some of you might wish to be aware of this.
What a mess it will be!
There is a website called theacpa.org.
