> I don't suppose I've had hardly an anxious day in my life until started and then stopped Parnate. I gave Parnate a 3 week trial and couldn't stand the side effects, and now 18 days later I'm pretty much through all the withdrawal except this crazy anxiety. I've never had to deal with any level of anxiety before and the level of it that came just after quitting parnate was like being set afire. It has now calmed down considerable, but I still get quite irrationally panicky over stuff like the brief second that I can't breath while taking a drink of water. This is crazy and not at all me. I would have expected withdrawal effects to have completely gone away by now, please tell me this typical and isn't permanent.

my guess is that your post-Parnate symptoms will subside as soon as the levels of monoamine oxidase return to normal. This can take a few weeks-- hence the 2 week 'wash-out' period needed before initiating another med/surgery, etc.
