Breaking Wellbutrin SR pills

Hi
I'm getting alot of anxiety on Wellbutrin SR 150mg and I'm wondering if its okay to break the tablet.I think 75mg would suit me better (I'm taking it to stay awake)
I know that technically it isn't recommended to break the pills but I am wondering if anyone else does it; I have no access to the lower dose pills.
Unfortunately my doctor is away on holiday and I can't reach him...
any advice would be greatly appreciated
