I suppose the following falls into both.First i wanted to comment on parnates data sheets. For the most part, the data sheets, and general recomendation is to take your second,OR last dose of parnate not much later than 3pm.
Ok assuming the average person is up and about approx 7am or so,theyll commonly take the first dose.
Now that seems to leave a small window to leave for second dosing.
My main concern for this is,i personaly find the parnate dose around 6-7 to be most effective when my body has sort of concluded on its cycle of the day,ALSO 3pm? Maybe its me but parnate sure doesent stick around very long at what feels like a therputic effect.
Using the recomendations provided,id be managing the evening hours, for some very important ones, with depression literaly creeping up my back, and worse off the pre notion that this is it,i took my meds, and any depression i occure from 4pm on i basicaly have to hope is held back from my early parnate doses.
I understand the main reasoning on this, which is to avoid at best the painstaking insomnia caused by this drug by taking it later.
HOWEVER,my final comment here is there is a good chance insomnia will emerge regardless, also for many the hours between 4pm and bed time are crucial, involving tons of social interaction with family, friends, and even second jobs.
Not to mention the terror of heading to bed depressed, that sucks so bad.
So i ask, people following this protocol,do you not feel that by taking your final dose at 3pm you find yourself in limbo,on the verge of heavy depression approx 7pm and helpless to do much about it?
For me parnates strongest effects last 4 hours, and perhaps its my actual downfall by not abiding, but i do feel that if i were not able to take my later evening dose id be one bedroom ridden very sad person.p.s My comment as i promised was this,i came across a link, and as much as i hate to repeat it since im on the med in question,i remember a particualr comment out of the blue at the end stating on the document...
"Patients should also take comfort in knowing for the most part, with the EXCEPTION of the MAOI PARNATE,that there anti depressants have little addiction potential."
