stomachache on zoloft

Posted by LlurpsieNoodle on August 10, 2007, at 11:00:37

My moods have been very well impacted by this med. I'm taking 50mg of it, and also 5mg abilify, some sonata and clonazepam prn (about .5-1.0 mg daily) and 300mg lamictal.

The only problem with this cocktail is that my stomach (upper GI is really upset). I've been taking rantidine (generic) acid reducer, and rolaids about 5 times a day, some sodium bicarbonate, lots of ginger and peppermint tea. It's there in the am, there in the pm, and is affecting my appetite.

Worried I might get an ulcer or gastic reflux. I remember reading that a spoonful of something acidic, like cider vinegar may paradoxically signal the sphincter at the bottom of the esophagus to close, but I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions.
-prilosec?
-maalox?

Will this go away with time? It makes me want to lie down on my left side and I can't do much housework because I don't want to bend over.

sorry for the rant.

-Ll
(p.s. I really like zoloft otherwise. this is so frustrating!)
