> See I knew that's why all the SSRI's require a benzo. How does straterra fit in there? I know a person who really got a lift from it and loved but it pooped out after a few weeks now doing great on resquip .25, Tiney dose of zyprexa. Love Phillipa
>I don't know Phillipa, but with the SRI's, much of the original research and trials conducted before their release, in particular the case with Prozac, showed that many where, or had to take a benzo as well. But see, I do absolutely fine on 60mg's of Prozac (mind you I take a mood stabilizer) This med, and the dose as well, just are not suitable for some people.
Having said that, I think I've come across a bit of the wrong way. (Surely...moi??..lol:)
I am not trying to demonize Strattera, but like with SRI's, and most psych meds, there has to be cautions for certain people who have a bad reaction to the med. That's really about it. I have never seen the harm in marketing a med that was shown 'generally regarded as safe'. But, when the numbers and data get fudged (As with the SRI's, and Effexor, et al), what's the harm in putting out some general cautions and concerns? I think it boils down to the stock owners not liking those things. With monitoring by the patient and the doctor (which should be done when anybody is taking medication), some meds will be fine for many people, but there are often very strong adverse effects for some, that suggest we should approach, at least, with caution. No biggie..really.Peace...Jay
