I read several messages on here about this subject and I have to tell you my story. My husband died 6 years ago from cirrhosis of the liver. He was 57 years old. He never drank a drop in his life and he never smoked. He was very much over weight. His weight was around 300 pounds. Over the years he had worn the cartilage away from his hip bone and he had nerve grinding nerve. This was very painful and he took Tylenol. By the handfuls. I tried to tell him that he was taking too many and that the bottle said to not take as much as he was. He would not see a doctor until it became too late. When the doctor did the liver biopsy they discovered his liver damage was from the acute acetaminophen overdosage.I told the doctor about how much Tylenol he took and my husband got very upset and said if Tylenol was that bad why the TV commercials didn’t say so. He was relying only from this information that the Tylenol would just kill his pain not him. He died 2 and 1/2 years later.
