Hi Phillipa,
Granted, Perindopril is used to treat hypertension. But it does have some dopaminergic properties. This has been confirmed by at least one study. It should be indirectly stimulating dopamine receptors in the brain.
And we know, dopamine is the pleasure chemical. But unfortunately, trying to stimulate this chemical directly is not always successful in the cases of depression. Here is where Perindopril like drugs win, because they do the job indirectly.Right after saying good-bye to all conventional antidepressants, I am trying to fix depression by unconventional means. Perindopril plus Provigil does the trick now. Next I will be trying Ondansetron. But so far, this combination has been very effective.
Cheers
