I went through a year of similiar with various dose of Lexapro or Celexa. Lexapro is probably good for Depression and GAD, but I don't think it cuts the panic disorder as well as some of the other meds that are instead FDA approved for Panic Disorder. Lexapro failed clinical trials for Panic Disorder. From my personal experience, I can see why. For me, the increased side effects of some of the other Panic approved meds is worth it to keep the panic under control. It seems that the reason Lexapro is often used these days is that it is the only SSRI that is still in patent and has drug reps pushing it on the docs and buying their offices meals.
