How much Trazadone are you taking?
Your doc may be starting you low to see how you do -- normal practice. The therapeutic range is very wide, 50 - 600 mg / 24 hr, with 150 mg being a common starting dose, although docs seldom prescribe more than 300 for sleep.
I've taken it off and on for several years. I usually take 100-200 mg, 300 is best but lasts too long -- what I like to call an "overhang" to distnguish it from a certain popular consumer drug ;-) Oddly enough, after being on Remeron 30 mg for almost a year, I find trazadone makes me MORE sleepy, but of course it depends on the relative dose, and YMMV as usual.
Trazadone in the higher dose range (200-600 mg / day) has the advantage of being a mild antidepressant, mostly SRI but I believe it also boosts norepinephrine a bit. Check with your doc.

> Hi, I discontinued remeron about 3 weeks ago (45 mg) I noticed very little by way of side effects, a little anxiety, but not bad. I was tired of feeling like a blimp! My doc rxd trazodone to help with sleep, and while not being as potent as remeron in inducing sleep, it does help somewhat. I feel a little less vigor also, possibly due to the nor-epinephrine effect of remeron. hope this helps!
