That's a very activating combination - not surprised you're having trouble sleeping! I was up half the night when I used to take just Wellbutrin.
A benzo like Xanax may help, but you may also quickly become tolerant to it. I was taking Klonopin (clonazepam) with the Wellbutrin and still am taking 2 mg/day with my current meds (Remeron+Requip); it's probably the safest bet for long-term night-time use. Even with the clonazepam I still have trouble sleeping many nights without additional meds.
Here are some non-benzo alternatives that I've used successfully:
Trimipramine 50-200 mg (according to Wikipedia, the closest to natural sleep)
Nortryptiline 25-50 mg
Trazadone 50-300 mg YMMV greatly!
Neurontin (gabapentin) 300-600 mg, this didn't help me get to sleep but seemed to help with staying asleep.
Melatonin 9 mg (for me works best in combo with one of the above, good for resetting your bedtime)All of these except the Melatonin are mild to moderate antidepressants too (and of course are Rx only), so you might be able to reduce your other meds as well. Trimipramine works the best for me, the only problem is it has a long half-life so I tend to have trouble getting up, but setting two alarms and the coffe-maker on auto usually does it for me!
Good luck,
Tony
