In reply to Lamictal - how much is enough?, posted by sunnydays on June 8, 2007, at 18:49:32
The starter pack increases the dose to 200 mg/day. I now take 300, which isn't unusual, and have take 450. If it appears to be helping (although at that low of a dose you're improved state may only be coincidently related to starting Lamictal), why not try 25 or 50 mg more? You need to taper up very slowly anyway because of the serious rash that can develop (in 1 in 10,000, I believe).--Johann
> Well... apparently I've been taking 50mg of Lamictal for a few months, and my pdoc just decided to tell me she doesn't think that's a therapeutic dose (actually she told my T, who told me, but that's a whole different story). I had added it on to 20mg of Lexapro for unipolar depression. A little while after I started taking the 50 mg (maybe a month later) I started feeling much better, and the feeling better continues.
