My hubby is on Namenda - has been for at least 2+ years. He's taking I believe 10 mgs. 2 x a day. It's for memory and cognitive processing issues that go along with MS - not Alzheimers. He feels it helps him somewhat - i.e., better than nothing. Aricept caused diabetes in him so that's a big no-no as far as we're concerned. It didn't work very well either. The main side effect that he's mentioned w/Namenda is constipation. He's also bipolar and takes lamictal. For him there is apparently no adverse interaction between the two.
A doctor just gave me requip for restless legs syndrome but I'm not going to take it as I actually have sciatica and pulled muscles from gardening!!!! The sides I see for Requip are drowsiness and dizziness plus some propensity towards gambling and spending addictions. But, I'm curious. What do Namenda and Requip have in common?
> Kaye that's what I found when I googled it I'd like to know to there is also requip. Love Phillipa
