I was wondering if anyone has used Topamax and at what dosage it kicked in? Also how long have you taken it for, or did you stop and for what reason, and any side-effects?
I am Bipolar and my PDOC has started me at 25 mg and so far I'm not finding it helping with the irritability and rage that is my main symptom next to depression (which I take Lamictal for). I used to take Zyprexa and it worked so well but I had to stop due to getting muscle rigidity and of course the infamous weight gain. I'm so hoping that Topamax is going to do the trick. My PDOC says we'll go to 50 mg next but she is taking it slow to avoid side-effects. I'm just really hoping for some real life stories of Topamax, good or bad. Thanks in advance for taking the time to respond.
