Hi again Phillipa,

My story is *almost* the same. I jumped from Effexor XR 75mg to 150mg in 2 days, and then jumped to 225mg 3 days later. No problems whatsoever (other than when I initially tried the Effexor XR and attempted to titrate the "approved" way).

I was at the point of taking 2mg Klonopin twice per day, but since the Effexor XR, I only take 2mg Klonopin just once per day.

I had no start-up problems with the Effexor XR (after getting past the 2 days at 75 mg), and absolutely no withdrawals from halving my benzo dose.

I was feeling great on the Effexor XR when I first began the 150mg dose. I could tell immediately that this med liked me. I am taking 300mg now, and I seem to be able to take life in stride a little better....plus don't have as much need for the benzos (although I'll never give those up! On the rare occassion, I have needed my full 4mg of Klonopin...like when my daughter was having surgery).

But yes....I do believe that Effexor can actually start working very, very quickly (since I'm living proof of it). I don't know why that is, but I'm taking it as a blessing. Great big hugs for your friend!!!!

God bless Phillipa!
Sandy
