In reply to Help; Is Parnate safe to take with Adderall?, posted by JR Boudreaux on April 27, 2007, at 6:41:20
Despite the warnings from the other posters, which, of course, you should take seriously, my pdoc has not been unwilling to prescribe adderall with Parnate.
It really is a matter of individual reactions, which your pdoc may have some read on. Another issue is how strong a relationship you have with her/him. eg if you tend to be aware of and report adverse effects early.
Another factor, of course, is whether your pdoc is experienced with Maois. If not, if not, he/she would be understandably much less likely to prescribe anything not in line with standard recommendations. My pdoc has used Maois extensively for many years.
I'm not sure if your pdoc would want to start you on Parnate with adderall, as opposed to adding the adderall after seeing how you respond to parnate, though.
So it's hard to know if that would be a combination that you could use.
