He said the fact that I am asking for help, after trying other things for controling stress like yoga (breathing), exercise, resting, distraction, that saying hey , these things are not working especially during finals, that I am not giving up.
He said he has seen many students especially in med school when they do need perfect grades, go through this. A lot turn to illegal means for stress, but I am choosing legal means for help. (xanax)He thinks it will help me learn when I have a huge amount of stress, which sometimes is unavoidable, especially the pressures I have for trying to keep a 4.0 grade point average so I can get into a great grade school. I probably won't be able to keep a 4.0 because that is rare, but I would like to keep it in the high range.
Is he right, taking meds occationally for stress isn't giving up or not being good enough on my own? What are your thoughts? By the way xanax is awesome! ;-)
