I will also post this to the "Relationships" link.
My fiance is originally from Romania but she is an American citizen. She and I met 3 years ago. She is now with her family in Romania, she is pregnant, and she tells me that she is in the midst of a psychosis.
She sees her psychiatrist, in Romania, on 4/16/2007.
She is an engineer by training and she returned to live in Romania, with her family, last summer. She is 44 years old and I stayed with her and her family this past January. She and I have done in vitro fertilization and, as I say, she is now 4 weeks pregnant (!). Our plan was for her to come join me in the USA in May 2007 and to marry but now she is telling me that our plans may be off.
She has been on Zyprexa, Risperidone, and Prozac in the past but she hasn't been on anything for about 1 year. She stopped taking her psych medications about 3 months before she returned to Romania.
I've done some quick reading on the Internet and it seems that the high potency "Typical" antipsychotics (Haldol, Navane, Stelazine, Prolixin, and Orap) are safer for pregnant woman to use than are the atypicals.
Can anyone confirm this?
Thank you.
