> Has any one used Buprenorphine for depression? Does it work for agitated depression and is it available in Canada?
Buprenorphine is approved in Canada as an alternative to methadone for opiate withdrawal, but it is not yet available due to problems in drafting the regulatory monitoring system guidelines.
> Will Psychiatrists prescribe it for depression?
Not likely, at least initially. It would require a deliberate transgression of the prescribing guidelines.

There are numerous threads on the subject. Just scroll to the bottom of any post, and you'll find a Google search tool, defaulting to search Psycho-Babble. Plug in buprenorphine.
