In reply to How long does Valium Last anyway?, posted by rjlockhart on April 6, 2007, at 0:05:21
Hi rj
Diazepam has a half-life (t1/2α) of 20-50 hours, and desmethyldiazepam [the main metabolite of diazepam] has a half-life of 30-200 hours
Continual daily doses of diazepam will quickly build up to a high concentration in the body (mainly in adipose tissue), which will be far in excess of the actual dose for any given day.[13][15]
