> Get this!! My pdoc calls in a script for Provigil for me now that he sees it's working. The Pharmacy says my pdoc has to fill out a pre authorization for necessity form for my insurance first, then they will fill it? For now I have to pay for it? 26 dollars for two 200mg pills?? Omg!! When did Blue Shield start that? I wonder if they will even pay for it? So if 26dollars for two, I'll need a second job for a months supply.
I know it's not a reality yet, but there are six tentative approvals in the FDA database for generics of this drug......Cephalon, manufacturer of the Provigil brand, is litigating right now, but they're probably going to lose, and then the gates will open. Cephalon tried to get the patent extended for a new indication of the med for ADHD, but it was rejected by the FDA.
In Canada, Shire markets the same drug as Alertec, for much less cost.
