Hi Phillipa,
I have just realized why i upset you. I just read your posts regarding coming off meds. I honestly hadn't read them prior to starting the new thread "anyone felt better off all meds" . It was just a coincidence.
I actually wanted to tell people of how well i'd felt off them. I didn't really 'have' to go back on them either, and i wouldn't have if i'd known then what i know now. I should have stuck it out when i got back to work and not gone racing off to get a script at the first sign of trouble. Maybe i'd just outgrown that job? Bordom can be stressful in itself!
It's important though to remember that drugs can often be the cause of your symptoms...ie
it's commonly accepted that it takes two to three weeks for SSRIs etc, to take effect. Therefore, if there is any adverse change in the patients behaviour during the initial two-to-three week period, there is the risk of it being blamed on the disease, not the drug! BUT, it is during the early stages of antidepressant therapy, the discontinuation of therapy and with any increase or decreadse in dosage that these drugs are most likely to cause problems.
So you may feel better without meds, if not you always have the option of going back to them - and there are some which do an excellent job (i know).
