It really is an odd drug, but unfortunately, it and klonopin, are the only things that really kick anxiety in the butt (most of the time).
I guess I am a fast metabolizer, because 1 or 2 mgs of klonopin don't seem to last me more than 2-3 hours, so lately, especially in very stressful situations, I take the 2 together. Wow, but do I feel dumb and tired!!!!
And yet it time and time again, I find that even this cognitive dulling is preferable to crippling anxiety. It isn't as if one's brain is sharp when one is anxiety-ridden!
And of course, depression itself makes one pretty dumb after a while...
It seems a shame that ssris never cut it in the anxiety department for me. I don't feel too keen on trying a tca. I failed with cymbalta and effexxor, as well as remeron, so why bother with the dirty "old" tricyclics?
I sometimes wonder what it would be like to take GABA as a supplement. Guess that is a question for another board.
Anyway, thank you for all of that information. Surely there exists something that makes a dent in anxiety without making one a complete moron.
