I've ordered most of my meds from India for years and never received anything that wasn't OK or in any way seemed suspect.
One thing that was mentioned above was cabergoline. I ordered some from there and I know it was the real deal because I had my prolactin levels tested before and after and I saw the expected supression. Of course it's very possible that some counterfeit drugs do come from there.
I did get a counterfeit batch of (expensive in the USA) antifungals from Thailand once. It was very strange because in the same order I also had another med which was actually a brand-name (and not a generic like I expected) and I could tell from the effect that this other med was genuine.
I think the whole counterfit med thing is blown way out of proportion by the FDA, etc in order to help protect the domestic drug manufacturers.
Here's a rule of thumb about trying to tell if a med is genuine. Don't look for the effect, but rather look for the side effects. If you have treatment resistant depression (or treatment resistant anything) then the meds that you order may not help with your depression. On the other hand, when you take a new med look at the side effects that you feel and look them up in the PDR to see if those are reasonable side effects from the med.
