A good book for you to read is "Why Your Depression Isn't getting better" by Dr. M Bartos. It is about the epidemic of undiagnosed bipolar disorders. I'm NOT saying that ALL people who fail to respond to multiple trial of AD's all have underlying bipolar disorders. This raises many red flags and needs to be considered, esp. when they get a good initial response,then the drug poops-out. There is a broad spectrum to bipolar disorders with overlapping symptoms. Too many people are handed out these meds like candy from their family doctors (who spend about 10 minutes with them) who really don't need to be on them in the first place. That's why they go from med to med, when all they probably need is psycho-therapy.
