Wellbutrin (buproprion) was derived from an ancient diet drug called Tenuate (diethylproprion) which is related to the amphetamine class. Its rather stimulating, I don't know if I would purely use it for an appetite suppressant, but if it served a double duty as an antidepressant addon I suppose there is not too much harm there.
