I'm not certain, by the way, that you can't drink while on Nardil. Some beers and wines have tyramine, of course, from the fermentation, so you have to avoid those in order to avoid blood-pressure issues, but they tend to be expensive, microwbrewed beers, or ones on 'tap.' And I believe some types of wine are okay, too. ...The thing to do, I believee, is to check specifically into the types of alcoholic drink, so you know how much tyramine they have per bottle, and limit your intake to a certain number of sealed bottles/cans/whatever of that type.
Alcohol does have a reputation for blocking the effect of antidepressants, but I don't know how good the evidence for that is, or whether it applies to MAO inhibitors.
