well, I can certainly related to everything written here - definitely feel among kindred spirits :)
I took Concerta for years (with 1mg klonopin for the anxiety) and was pretty pleased with it. I certainly liked it a lot better than ritalin - no crash. My dose was 2-54mg daily (108mg).
My insurance company was going to drop it so I switched to focalin XR, which hits faster but also has a gradual drop off.
I still need the 1mg klonopin - makes a HUGE difference for me. With my anxiety, I don't think I could take them without it.
and I also take 1.5mg klonopin in the evenings
though someone on this board posted that focalin lasted for 12 hours (for them), both concerta and focalin seem to have about an 8 hour window for me
how's is the cymbalta? I've been considering it for peripheral neuropathy as well as an AD. But I keep hearing the effects poop out so I'd be interested in your experience.
good luck
namaste,
lilith> Man you sound a lot like me. I too have incessant ruminating, non-stop running brain does not help issues. I'm hyper-sensitivity to everything. Sometimes the slighest noises set me off. I also take klonopin 1 mg at night. I'm also taking Cymbalta. Sometimes I don't know if I'm Obsessive, manic, ADHD, or GAD...........

It gets out of my system fairly quickly though and so by 2 to 3 in the afternoon I am tired, falling asleep...this surprised me. I take it early because I am up early (5:30 a.m.) and I will say there is a little bit of anxiety with it that I don't like, If you already have anxiety, then from my experience, it enhances it. So, I like it and then I am so-so about it. I have issues with focus and motivation and it does not quite give me the motivation we all thought it would. I have tried Provigil at 200mg which most people cannot take that high and I get the motivation, but even that starts to wear off and for me it was useless for concentration. So, I am going to ask to try Adderall which I have heard and read better things about in terms of what I am looking for. I think Concerta is good. I like that it does not hang around in your system forever like alot of drugs. Not sure how much you are taking or for how long or why. I just started myself and find I need higher doses or need to change to a med that will help with what my issues are, but all in all- the focus is fantastic.
> > Hope this sheds a little light-- I am new to it. I have been on Wellbutrin for years and I have stopped that, even though the doc wanted me to stay on at least 300 a day (I was on 450 max) , but it no longer does anything for me-- I need a break from it. I do take Klonopin at night (which i have also been on for years) and have found I have had to increase that to another 1mg and so I take 2mg at night and this may indeed flatten some of the Concerta. Not sure, but it seems it might. I also have a whole bunch of stuff I am fretting about and so I cannot just blame the Concerta---my incessant ruminating, non-stop running brain does not help issues..... :)
