> Well, in the UK, lithium levels above 1.0 are *not* recommended. 0.6 to 1.0 is considered to be therapeutic for the treatment bipolar disorder, 0.8 is a common target for the treatment of an acute manic episode. 0.7 is not low, some people benefit from much less. 0.4 can be adequate to 'augment' an antidepressant. Part of the reason many people get unpleasant side effects from lithium is because they are given too much. A lithium level of 1.2 is likely to be very poorly tolerated!
