Im glad to see some people on this since i am/was feeling quite alone.As ive stated,augment strategies to hit areas the drug misses,or to qwell side effects im more than happy to look into,HOWEVER unless something things current change,PARNATE is the only anti depressant id consider point blank as a PRIMARY MED.
Just to point out a few things,i posted a while ago how gsk actualy obtained the drug,it was from a work alone chemisct,so the company dident create it themselves.
Ive called and spoke to pharm techs there,and even they were less then encourgaing on info.I was sent a packet which asks me to write down anything i could on the drug for them.Not very soothing either.
I believe there are two official data sheets,the oldest listing maint dose at a single 10 mg tab,highest at 30.The second official one had 30 mg as main and 60 as highest.Quite a differeance.
Then you have various personal writings on the usage of over a 100 but those are not actual data sheets from gsk.
On remedy find youll find much success with it,and many people using just over a 100 mg
Unfortantly i believe its a drug that as much as i hate to say it,you have to FIRST get familiar with yourself,then second actualy find what and how this drug BEST works for you.If you have a unconventional and understanding doc they will help you with this,OR you can have a doc like people who dont know this med say.......YOUR PLAYING DOC WITH THE MED,but anyone knowing the twists and turns you have to manuver knows better.
So my advice to new users is UNTIL you know the drug,feel safe using it,follow guidelines,when you feel comfortable,using your docter if thats your belief or alone,slowly explore the med at different levels.
Keep a written diary if you have to,i have.Monte i believe or someone said a great idea,im a grown man,yet i still have someone hold the bulk of this drug,as i get it in months supply,and well simply dont want to hurt myself or run out,now i can surly find my way to more,but them holding it is enough to let my SELFTALK in and say ok,thats a lot you have been using.Personaly and unfortantly i dont think there is a standerd,i think its such a odd working drug,that timing increments,overall dosages,etc end up being very individual.
The only thing i STRONGLY warn aganist is this.......please try to understand with my bad grammer what i am saying here,
MORE THAN the days overall dose in increments,i.e you too 150 mg in a couple of 40 mg increments,is much more important than the amount of a single increment,i.e you took less only 70 mg BUT you took one dose or two.
The break up and build of the drug is much diferent than the inpouring of a high amount.The latter is when you can like 20 min after feel the blood pressure change,and realise your in trouble.
This is from years of using it.And honestlly using it in increments spread out allows for using a much higher dose MUCH MORE SAFTLY.
Aside from that,what ill say about the med is apart from it be addicting which i really dont know,i do know even when its not putting out a blunt strong anti depressant effect,what it ALWAYS does is give a feeling of,OK THIS DEPRESSION IS BAD,but not the end of the world,tommorrow is a new day to try again,and ill call this one in as a lose.It doesent allow for that sick,gut twisting depression to come in,and this is why even though i dont get that robust relief any longer,i stay on it,because although i still need more relief,i DONT get the unbearable i give up sick feeling on it,i simply deal with it,and i know from being off it,that it is with the aid of the drug im able to feel this way.
