Wow, I cant believe I have been on it for 28 days. I have been diagnosed with anxiety primarily, and then depression. The pdocs thought the anxiety was masking the depression, hence the trial of Ensam.
Do I feel better on Day 28 than I did on Day 1? Yes most certainly. I'm not saying Emsam is the perfect drug or even the right drug for me, but life is "bearable" while on it and I plan to contine taking it for at least two more weeks.
If it's the only difference I notice, it's that Emsam is a little activating. Gives you energy, which I am not sure I need with anxiety. However, I also take 150mg of Seroquel and 3mg of Klonopin, and they both seem to help with the anxiety, especially the Seroquel.
During the first two weeks of Emsam, I took off my patch at night because I didn't sleep well. Well, I guess that was anxiety from taking Emsam (it's a MAOI for gosh sakes). Oh well, the last two weeks I have worn the patch 24/7 and sleep just fine.
You know I had four really good months last year on just Seroquel and Klonopin and felt better than I do know with my mix led by Emsam. Am I glad I am trying Emsam? Hell yes. You never know until you try. If you are thinking about it, I recommend it. No real side effects (at least for me) and I do think it's the med-type of the future, MAOIs going through the blood stream to cut down on dietary restrictions. To me, far more effective than any SSRIs.
If anyone has any questions, please ask. Thank you everyone for your support on this board. Michael
